Rebels of dance
In Transatlantic, Dutch National Ballet brings together four "rebels of dance", choreographers from Amsterdam, London, New York and Berlin who take dance in a totally new direction on the basis of classical techniques:
Justin Peck
For the first time ever, Justin Peck's adrenalin-filled and joyful work can be admired in the Netherlands. Year of the Rabbit will be danced to music by Sufjan Stevens.
George Williamson
A new work made especially for Transatlantic follows Williamson’s individual style, letting each dancer in his ensemble shine.
David Dawson
A dazzling ballet with eighteen dancers moving with power and grace is inspired by T.S. Eliot’s poem The Four Quartets, and zooms in on emotions of suffering and love.
Ernst Meisner
Meisner created a new dance duet, with costumes designed by fashion stylist Jan Taminiau.
