Whisky in Leiden
Whisky in Leiden opens its doors for the tenth time this June to bring whisky distillers and whisky lovers together for a delicious day out.
Whisky in Leiden
For the connoisseur and the amateur alike, the Whisky in Leiden festival is a great way to find new flavours and brands of whisky that you never knew you needed in your life. Your entrance ticket gets you a limited edition glass designed for the 2024 event, a brochure of all the suppliers and partners at the event, as well as a sandwich buffet to make sure you can line your stomach before indulging.
Partners and distillers
With over forty different participants, this year's event is the biggest yet. There's a real focus on independent distilleries, which means there is a good chance you'll find a hidden gem that's flown under your radar so far, while a few shops and suppliers will make sure the big names are present too. Dutch distillers Zuidam and Cley will be present, as well as whiskies from around the world.
Plan your day
The event is in the beautiful, gothic Hooglandse Kerk which is about a 20-minute walk from Leiden Centraal train station, close to the very centre of the city. This makes it easy to include a few hours exploring the old city streets of Leiden. Parking is limited in Leiden, so we recommend travelling by public transport. There are several different bus routes that run from the Leiden Centraal train station to get you within a 5-minute walk of the church.
Get your tickets
The day is broken into two time slots - you can attend from 1pm-4.30pm for those who have evening plans, or 7pm-10.30pm for those who consider a night of tasting whisky a night out in itself. Tickets are available in advance from Whisky in Leiden directly, but you need to select a time slot at the time of purchase. If you're lucky enough to have a baby-face, don't forget to bring your ID as it's over-18s only.
