Looking to share a new musical adventure with your children aged six years or older? You are most welcome to join the Concertgebouw Orchestra for this special children’s concert in the Recital Hall of the Concertgebouw on November 20.

About the children's concert

"Bam!! With a bang a ball flies through the open doors of the tram. There you are with your wheelchair… No your racing chair!" Raas (the main character) has to go after it and that leads to some strange adventures with some crazy characters.

But that is all we're going to say for now because you have to see this modern-day musical adventure for yourself! So, kids aged six and above are welcome to the Recital Hall on November 20, bringing their parents or grandparents along with them, because it’s sure to be great fun for them too!

The Concertgebouw opens 40 minutes before the start of the concert and drinks are included in the price of the ticket.

Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra

Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra

The Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra was founded in 1888. Its distinctive sound has made it one of the world’s leading orchestras.

The orchestra is famous for its renditions of works by Gustav Mahler, Richard Strauss and Anton Bruckner, and for its long-standing concert traditions such as the St Matthew Passion in the week before Easter and the Christmas Matinee. It has always worked closely with contemporary composers.

World-famous guest conductors such as Riccardo Chailly, Iván Fischer, Daniel Harding and Mirga Gražinytė-Tyla will be coming to Amsterdam to lead the orchestra next season.

The Concertgebouw Orchestra has had just seven chief conductors to date. The eighth was announced on 10 June 2022: Klaus Mäkelä will be joining as artistic partner starting in the 2022-2023 season and will become chief conductor in 2027. The coming season sees five extraordinary programmes with Klaus Mäkelä at the helm.
