Claiming Space | online programme for female empowerment by Melkweg
Claiming Space is a set of talks and workshops, organised by Melkweg in Amsterdam, which will be streamed online. Its aim is to encourage women to claim their space in this world! From the business world to the music industry, it's important for women to feel strong and empowered and to shake off those feelings of excessive modesty or shame for unapologetically being themselves.
Online event to mark International Women's Day
March 8 is International Women's Day, and in the 1,5-metre society, this landmark time of year will be marked with livecasts and online talks, encouraging women to find their voices. Marching in the streets won't be possible this year and that's why digital solidarity is so important on March 6-7.
This event is about empowerment and rising above the patriarchy through individual and collaborative endeavours. Speakers and artists at the event make a powerful case in their talks about the patriarchy, sexuality and womanhood. There’s even a talk on the topic of getting ready for the Women’s March.
