Avishai Cohen Quartet's latest album, Naked Truth, possesses a sense of longing, raw beauty and vulnerability. This comes after a remarkable recording session in the south of France. The Israeli trumpeter leads the way, along with his long-time bandmates, pianist Yonathan Avishai, bassist Barak Mori and drummer Ziv Ravitz, who all share an intimate understanding. Cohen also recites “Departure”, a poem by Zelda Schneurson Mishkovsky on the theme of letting go.
