Grape harvesting is a time for celebration
Amsterdam Wine Festival coincides with harvest times across the wine-producing regions of the world. Therefore, wines of the Southern Hemisphere are featured in the March edition each year, and wines of the Northern Hemisphere are featured in the autumn / winter edition.
During grape harvesting periods, vineyard owners and wine farmers celebrate the fact that the grapes have been successfully collected and, therefore, the wine process can begin. It may not be harvest time in the Netherlands, but let’s celebrate the grape harvest together at the Westergasfabriek. This edition will focus on the wines of South Africa, Argentina and New Zealand in particular.
Taste other cultures in food and wine
Visitors can taste food from different cultures and try the optimal food and wine pairings to make the taste buds sing. This edition travels through South Africa, New Zealand, Argentina, Australia and Peru. Taste the culture as top chefs and restaurants bring you the best food to compliment your wine.
