Amsterdam Art and Antiques Week

Sep 19, 2020Sep 27, 2020
Daily from 11am
Spiegelkwartier
Amsterdam

Don’t miss the Amsterdam Art and Antiques Week. This year sees the event taking place over a longer period than usual!

It has been dubbed as "The historical art fair with the Amsterdam streets as pathways“, owing to Amsterdam’s old-world charm, especially in the Spiegelkwartier where the high density of galleries means that you can quickly and easily flit from one to another in a short space of time, as though you were inside a museum. It’s during events like this that you can perceive Amsterdam as something of a living museum itself!

Over 40 art and antique dealers, all in one Amsterdam district

The Spiegelkwartier, which is home to an astoundingly high number of galleries per square kilometre, is located within the Amsterdam canal belt, which has the status of a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Wander between city canals like the Herengracht, Keizersgracht, Prinsengracht and Lijnbaansgracht and soak up Amsterdam’s heritage, both indoors and outdoors!

Over 40 art and antique dealers will open their doors for this special extended version of the event, which previously took place over a single weekend. In addition to galleries, other buildings, such as the coach house of the Museum van Loon, will transform into pop-up exhibition spaces. In a time that is challenging for many sectors, Amsterdam Art and Antiques Week brings a welcome lift to the art scene of Amsterdam, for both national and international dealers and vendors.

Opening times at Amsterdam Art and Antiques Week

  • Monday-Thursday: 11am-6pm
  • Friday-Sunday: 11am-9pm

Safety and hygiene measures

Safety is an important issue at the event, in line with the national coronavirus-related hygiene measures. A limited amount of visitors will be allowed in each premises at any given moment. Many dealers have made additional space available for collectors who need extra time and space to give an antique or artwork a closer inspection before purchase.
