Listen to Milan's most famous orchestra in Amsterdam

Orchestra Filarmonica della Scala is the resident orchestra of one of the most famous opera houses in the world: La Scala in Milan. It was set up in the 1980s by Claudio Abbado and musicians of La Scala opera house, and Riccardo Chailly took on the role of musical director in 2015. Chailly is one of the great conductors of our time. Born in Milan, he has conducted many of the most eminent orchestras in the world and has made many superb recordings.

Concert programme

The concert programme includes performances of some of the most famous symphonies by Prokofiev and Tchaikovsky, as well as the Prokofiev Violin Concerto No. 1, featuring violinist Emmanuel Tjeknavorian. 

  • Prokofiev - Symphony No. 1 in D major, op. 25 "Classical"
  • Prokofiev - Violin Concerto No. 1 in D major, op. 19
  • Tchaikovsky - Symphony No. 6 in B minor, op. 74 "Pathétique"
