A grand celebration of South African heritage

SAFFA Fest Amsterdam is a brand-new event created by Saffa Huis to bring together South Africans in the Netherlands around the nostalgic traditions of home. Designed to host up to 800 guests, the festival creates an electric atmosphere of unity, warmth and community spirit.

Authentic braai, biltong and traditional eats

At the heart of the event is the traditional braai (barbecue), where attendees can gather around the fire to share stories and delicious food. Food options include gourmet boerewors rolls, meat and vegetarian bunny chows, peri-peri chicken with chips, and freshly grilled braaibroodtjies.

To satisfy sweet cravings, the festival offers classic treats like milk tart, koeksisters and peppermint crisp tart. Meat lovers can also enjoy a variety of biltong and droëwors provided by Runder Biltong.

Custom craft beers, fine wines and gin

The festival features a wide selection of drinks tailored specifically for the occasion:

Rugby is a major passion in South Africa, and festivalgoers can watch the match live at 5pm. Attendees can also take part in a score-prediction game with special prizes awarded to those closest to the final score.

Throughout the day, live DJs will set the mood with classic tunes from home, turning up the energy after the rugby match with Amapiano and afro house beats to keep the party going into the evening.
