About the Holland Dance Festival
In keeping with the idea that dance should be for everyone, the Holland Dance Festival presents international dance productions through which they offer a window to the world. For the 2016 edition of the Holland Dance Festival, a programme was put together consisting nearly exclusively of Dutch or worldwide premieres.

Ballet Black
Friday, February 5 - 8.30pm
Theater aan het Spui, The Hague
Ballet Black is a unique group with only Asian dancers and dancers of colour. The British company presents not only polished virtuoso dance but also a lot of brand new choreographies. On their Dutch debut the group will dance works by Will Tuckett, Kit Holder and Arthur Pita, three of the hottest British choreographers of the moment. Tickets are worth 22,50 euros each.
-
Pavement
Thursday, February 4 - 8pm
Korzo Theater, The Hague
Kyle Abraham is one of the shooting stars of the contemporary dance scene in the United States. Trained in classical music, visual arts and contemporary dance he developed a dance idiom that is completely his own, which beautifully combines modern and urban styles, complete with a good deal of poetry and refinement.
The Holland Dance Festival is bringing Abraham to the Netherlands for the first time. In the ensemble piece "Pavement", he contemplates the position of African-Americans with a lot of dynamics, intensity and emotional nuance. The American media called Pavement an absolute must-see!
Tickets for this performance will be for the piece’s Dutch premiere and are worth 17,50 euros each.
Please note: Ticket competition winners will be announced on January 6. Each winner will receive one double ticket for their selected performance. Remember to check this page or your IamExpat inbox to see if you've been selected.
