The Position
As part of the eCommerce team, this Marketplace Manager role focuses on driving commercial performance, ensuring operational stability, and accelerating growth initiatives across key platforms. With the Q4 peak season approaching, you’ll play a critical role in leading weekly trading reviews, executing campaign actions, and optimizing marketplace performance across partners like Zalando, About You, and ASOS. This role is both strategic and hands-on, requiring strong trading acumen, marketplace experience, and cross-functional coordination.
Key Responsibilities
Peak Season Trading Execution
- Lead weekly trading reviews across marketplaces, focusing on sales, margin, returns, and stock.
- Execute commercial actions to capture Cyber Month and Holiday season peaks.
- Align assortment and promotions with Planning and Marketing for maximum impact.
- Monitor stock utilization and respond swiftly to risks and opportunities.
Marketplace Growth & Strategy
- Plan and optimize ZMS (Zalando Marketing Services) campaigns.
- Lead the assessment and rollout of Zalando Fulfillment Service (ZFS) in collaboration with Logistics and Finance.
- Evaluate and prioritize new marketplace opportunities for future growth.
- Coordinate legal and financial alignment for new partner initiatives.
Operational Management & Reporting
- Ensure smooth activation and trading coordination with marketplace partners.
- Own and optimize reporting dashboards covering OEV, profitability, margin, and returns.
- Act as the central point of contact for internal stakeholders and external partners.
- Provide daily operational guidance and onboarding support to team members.
Measures of Success
- Q4 sales performance exceeds or meets forecast.
- Seamless execution of Cyber Month and Holiday trading campaigns.
- Zalando ZMS campaigns launched with strong ROI.
- ZFS implementation plan delivered with a solid business case.
- At least one new marketplace opportunity assessed for future rollout.
- Timely and accurate trade reporting with proactive risk management.
Requirements
- 6+ years of experience in eCommerce and marketplace management.
- Proven track record with Zalando, About You, ASOS, and similar platforms.
- Hands-on experience with Zalando ZMS and ZFS.
- Strong commercial and trading instincts, especially in high-pressure peak periods.
- Confident working cross-functionally across Planning, Logistics, Finance, and Marketing.
- Analytical, detail-oriented, and able to take initiative in a fast-paced environment.
