System Administrator

Our client is looking for a system administrator. You will be responsible of all servers and system related IT setup, development, maintenance and daily operations. In addition, you will be supporting general tasks within the IT team and provide IT support to office employees.

  • Monitoring capacity and performance alert a need for additional resources / equipment in a timely manner
  • Checking and verifying servers and users daily backups
  • Monitoring systems health, alerting and taking prompt actions in case of any abnormality
  • Preparing infrastructure for new projects etc., based on road map
  • Monitoring and enforcing IT polices, alerting users in case of any deviation
  • Company cyber security officer
    • 1. Developing and implementing cyber security solution
    • 2. Alerting CEO in case of cyber treat or any breach of company security policy
    • 3. Responsible for cyber training to all office employees
    • 4. Sharing info regarding new risks/ treats
    • 5. Preparing and lunching monthly phishing campaigns for office and vessels
    • 6. Keeping the company security barriers up to date as per risk analysis
  • Working with all IT staff on routine and ad hoc projects
  • Troubleshooting system and network problems, diagnosing and solving hardware or software faults.
  • Responsible for office communication (hardware, software mobile Tecnos), focal point for any communication issue
  • Infrastructure monitoring, fault diagnosis and resolution, directly or via third parties.
  • Maintaining the company active directory up to date
  • Maintaining the company exchange server including public folders clean and up to date
  • Opening new users, assigning rights and resources as per company policy
  • Responsible of user termination process, verifying system access is blocked prior leaving the office
  • Responsible for GDPR compliance

  • Windows 2012/2016 Servers environment
  • Linux server environment; OS CentOS 5
  • Oracle / SQL databases
  • Storage (Netapp Controller)
  • Networking (FortiGate FG201E Firewall)
  • Security (Spamfiler by CyboCloud, AV by Mcafee, Mobile Protection by Sandblast)
  • WAN setup
  • VPN – FortiClient
  • Test environment
  • Live environment


Technical Experience:
  • Servers and Storage
  • Network equipment switches, access points, routers and firewalls
  • HP Switches, POE switches for Phone Connectivity
  • Databases
  • Cloud platforms i.e. Azure, AWS
  • Enterprise Security
  • Windows 2016 / AD / Azure AD / Linux / Virtualization VMWare. (Vmware Vpshere installed and servers managed by the ESX host for windows 2012 as OS and Exchange 2013)
  • Equivalent or MSc in Information Technology would be an advantage
  • Past experience supporting a 24x7 company would be an advantage
  • PC knowledge
  • Monitoring and planning skills are necessary
  • Excellent business level English

Salary Benefits:

The position is based in Amsterdam. Full time position. Immediately available.
You will be working in a multi-national environment; the official language will be English.
