[Video] Amsterdam’s new underwater bike parking opens to the public

It’s finally here! After a whopping 60 million euros and four years of work, the underwater bike parking facility at Amsterdam Centraal opened its doors to the public this week - get a sneak peek inside in the video below!

Underwater bike parking facility opens at Amsterdam Centraal

Cyclists across the Dutch capital are likely relieved to hear that the municipality is finally doing something to improve and expand bike parking at Amsterdam Centraal. Between the new parking facilities opening at Stationsplein and Ijboulevard, there will be a combined capacity of 11.000 bikes at the city’s main train station. 

The new parking facility at Stationsplein is the largest bicycle parking facility in Amsterdam and the first in the world to be built underwater. It opened its doors to the public on January 26, but for those who haven’t made it to Amsterdam Centraal yet, get a sneak peek inside in the video below.
