Two Dutch pizza restaurants named among best in Europe

Some of the tastiest pizza in Europe can be found in restaurants right here in the Netherlands. A guide from Italian pizza review site 50 Top Pizza has named nNea in Amsterdam and O’Panuozzo in Utrecht among the top 50 best pizza places on the continent, but outside of Italy.
Best pizza restaurants in the Netherlands
Based in Amsterdam Oud-West, nNea has been named the top pizzeria in the Netherlands for 2025, and has claimed seventh place in the ranking for the whole of Europe. The pizza review site praised the restaurant for its pizza dough, which is “the heart and soul of every creation here at nNea”. The “thin, soft and perfectly leavened” pizza has become such a classic in the Dutch capital that visitors hoping to taste the food need to book well in advance to get a table.
This year, O’Panuozzo in Utrecht also made it into the ranking, coming in 50th position. The traditional Neapolitan pizza, cooked to perfection with high-quality ingredients, earned the pizzeria a spot in the ranking along with its team of cooks. “The presence of a woman leading the team of pizza makers is a sign of innovation and diversity in a traditionally male-dominated industry, making O'Panuozzo not only a place to enjoy excellent pizzas, but also an example of inclusion and female talent,” wrote the guide.
Europe’s best pizzerias outside of Italy
50 Top Pizza compiles guides for the best pizza in Italy and around the world. The guide for the top 50 pizza restaurants in Europe lists 193 pizzerias, not including those in Italy.
As part of their annual ranking, 50 Top Pizza named Napoli on the Road in London, United Kingdom, as the best pizza restaurant outside of Italy. Here, diners can expect a “dynamic and ever-evolving gastronomic experience” with dough that “combines lightness, fragrance, and depth of flavour”.
Baldoria in Madrid claimed the number two spot, while third place is shared between Sartoria Panatieri in Barcelona and Via Toledo in Austria. Of all 193 pizza restaurants included in the guide, Spain had the most featured with 31 pizzerias, followed by France with 22.
