As part of its ongoing expansion of bicycle parking around Central Station, the municipality of The Hague recently doubled the amount of parking places available in the bicycle parking area to 500.

In the parking area on the Rijnstraat, two-level bike racks have been put into place. Bikes can be parked in the upper rack simply and without too much effort using a mechanical system.

Other bicycle parking areas around Central Station will also be expanded this year:
› The number of spots in the area on the Koningin Julianaplein will increase from 750 to 1.350.
› The guarded area under the station will get an extra 400 spots, bringing its total up to 1.500.

By the end of this year, construction will also begin on a new lock-up with 1.200 spots located under the Prins Bernardviaduct, and next year the multiple storey lock-up will be expanded by 800 new spots to a total of 3.500.

All in all, the municipality plans to increase the number of bicycle parking spots around Den Haag Centraal to 11.400 by 2020.
