The Hague is hosting a chess tournament on January 31, with three Russian stars challenging some 120 local players. Sergey Karjakin, Sergei Tiviakov and Anish Giri, are attending the tournament at the request of The Russian Embassy, the Municipality of The Hague and the DD chess club, which will be held in the Atrium of The Hague City Hall at 4.45pm

Anyone can come watch the display at the City Hall, or alternatively follow the action online at Simultaanevenement Den Haag.

Expats who wish to play at the tournament must have an Elo level lower than 2200 to be able to register. Members of the Hague Chess Association (Haagse Schaakbond) can register through their club or through Simultaanevenement Den Haag.
