Kicking off the Dutch cultural season

The Uitmarkt is the largest annual festival in the Netherlands, where 200 of the country's cultural foundations showcase what they have to offer.

This special event kicks off the Dutch cultural season by presenting more than 300 performances of the best music, art, theatre, dance, opera, literature and cabaret. More and more of the latest films and new media are on offer, too! 25 stages on and around the Amsterdam Oosterdok will feature thousands of performers indoors and outdoors, entertaining 500.000 visitors across three days during the last weekend of August.

Uitmarkt 2017

This year, the Uitmarkt will see its 40th edition. To celebrate, there will be a festive opening night on a floating Iamsterdam stage. Check out the full programme and list of venues.

Grab a bite

There will be a great variety of food trucks at the festival, so you won't go hungry while admiring a preview to a musical or concert. Grab a bite while laughing at a comedy performance, enjoying extreme fashions or marvelling at the many other stunning attractions.

Enhancing cultural participation

The goal of the Uitmarkt is to enhance cultural participation in the Netherlands by letting a wide audience encounter the rich and varied initiatives that the coming season will have to offer.
