For years, the expat hub of Wassenaar was the most expensive neighbourhood in the Netherlands to buy a home. Now, there’s a new neighbourhood in the top spot - the area of Diepenbrockbuurt in Amsterdam-Zuid.

Diepenbrockbuurt named the most expensive neighbourhood in the Netherlands

According to Het Parool, the Amsterdam-Zuid neighbourhood, located along either side of the Zuider Amstelkanaal, has an average house price of 2,67 million euros. The pre-war houses that can be found in the neighbourhood have increased in value over the past year, making the neighbourhood the most expensive in the country.

Despite this, the most expensive street to live on in the Netherlands can still be found in good old Wassenaar. The Konijnenlaan running through Oud Wassenaar has an average property price of 3,1 million euros, as of 2023.

All the streets with the most multi-million euro homes can be found in Amsterdam

Though Wassenaar is home to the street with the highest average property price, the most multi-million dollar homes can be found on five streets in Amsterdam. The most multi-million euro homes can be found in Keizersgracht, 600 homes that have a value in the millions.

After that comes The Prinsengracht with almost 500 multi-million euro homes, then comes Valeriusstraat with more than 350, The Herengracht with more than 300 and in fifth place is Johannes Verhulststraat.
