Amsterdam Airport Schiphol has recently launched a new application for smartphone - both iPhone and Android - owners.
The Amsterdam Airport Schiphol app can be downloaded for free at most popular App stores or Schiphol's free WiFi network and offers:
› personal travel information including flight information via “push notification”
› relevant and practical information about the airport’s facilities

› news, updates and activities
Future extensions (first quarter of 2011)
› actual traffic
› public transport travel updates
› English version
"This new passenger and visitor service contributes directly to our ambition of Europe’s preferred airport. Mreover, it reaffirms Schiphol’s reputation as an innovative and trendsetting airport, where serving customers is a top priority," says consumers business area director Otto Ambagtsheer.
The mobile website of Amsterdam Airport Schiphol offers:

› current flight information via SMS
› improved presentation of current flight
› maps of the halls and lounges (both arrival and departure)

› weather information
Note that even though schiphol.mobi is free, the cost of data traffic is not and varies by provider and subscription.
