After months of no direct trains running from Amsterdam to London, Eurostar has announced that it is set to resume the international train route from February 10, 2025.

Amsterdam to London Eurostar back on track from 2025

Due to renovations at Amsterdam Centraal, Eurostar has been unable to run direct trains from Amsterdam to London since June this year. Instead, any trains running from Amsterdam would have to stop in Brussels for passport control. The direct train from London to Amsterdam has been running as normal.

Problems with Dutch rail infrastructure meant that it was possible that Eurostar could halt trains from the Netherlands altogether. However, most of these problems have since been solved and the direct rail service from Amsterdam to London is set to return from February - about a month later than was expected.

Eurostar terminal in Amsterdam gets snazzy upgrade

As a part of the large-scale renovations at Amsterdam Central Station, a larger Eurostar terminal is being built where a coffee corner, various shops and a passenger lounge will be added. The renovation will also allow Eurostar to transport more passengers from Amsterdam.

Instead of just 250 people boarding in the Dutch capital, 450 will be able to get on the train from February. According to Eurostar, “somewhere in the spring or summer” a further 200 will be allowed to board in Amsterdam. “Then the work on the terminal will be completely finished,” a Eurostar spokesperson told de Volkskrant. The rest of the seats will be filled with passengers from Rotterdam and Brussels.
