MixTree Languages has recently moved their English school to a new location in the heart of Amsterdam.

Sign up for the MixTree Open Day!

MixTree Languages opened in 2014 as a non-profit organisation whose goal was to celebrate Amsterdam's diversity and share its many cultures through group English classes and cultural events.

The sense of community continues to be at the heart of MixTree’s mission. Fun, dynamic classes that encourage interaction are the hallmark of all MixTree Languages’ educational programmes, and its social events, including a weekly language meetup, still mark its calendar. Of course, during these corona times, the weekly meetups have temporarily moved online to Facebook.

Interactive and dynamic classes

At MixTree Languages, you’re not going to get boring grammar lessons and memorisation drills. What you will get is plenty of time to practise the language that you need, whether it’s for travelling the world or giving a successful business presentation. MixTree uses their unique “Activate your English” methodology to make sure students spend as much time as possible speaking in class.

Highly qualified, experienced teachers

MixTree Languages’ team of teachers are native or bilingual teachers with at least five years of teaching experience and recognised teaching qualification such as a CELTA, TEFL, or TESOL.

Put your language to use in the city

Being in the heart of Amsterdam, just around the corner from the Heineken brewery and the beloved canal district, means that students coming to learn English at MixTree can easily head out and explore the winding streets, canals, and museums that the city has to offer.

We all know that learning a language isn’t just about practising in a classroom, but in the real world as well. Luckily, the Netherlands has some of the world’s best non-native English speakers, so a day exploring Amsterdam will inevitably mean putting to use the language you’ve learned in your MixTree English classes.

Classes that suit your needs and schedule

MixTree Language’s most popular courses are their On-site Intensive English Courses, group courses that immerse students in English over four weeks, four days a week. With new intensive courses beginning monthly, students looking for A2, B1, or B2 level classes have plenty of opportunities to improve their English level. Other English courses that MixTree Languages offers include:

  • On-site Evening English Courses
  • On-site English for Beginners
  • Online Business English
  • Online and On-site Advanced English
  • IELTS Preparation
  • In-Company English Courses
  • Online and on-site Private Lessons

For their Live-Online C1 and Business English Evening Courses, MixTree Languages uses Zoom. All courses also use Google Classroom and WhatsApp group chats to keep students and teachers connected.

Join the Open Day and test your English!

Every week, MixTree Languages offers online Open Days where students can test their level of English and find out more about courses. Sign up if you would like to test your English level.

Additionally, once a month, MixTree opens its doors for an on-site Open Day, so prospective students can meet their team in person. Check out the MixTree website for updates about Courses, Events, and upcoming Open Days.

Coronavirus precautions

At MixTree Languages, additional measures have been taken to help ensure the health, safety, and well-being of students and staff. The 1.5-meter rule is actively enforced. Additionally, the classrooms are spacious with two entrances each and are cleaned thoroughly before and after every group class. Hand sanitiser is provided.
