Are you motivated about driving strategic alignment, enabling business agility, and leading transformation? We're looking for an experienced Interim Lean Portfolio Manager (8-9 months) to help us elevate our Agile ways of working and guide our strategic portfolio during a crucial phase. We’re a team that values openness, learning, and progress over perfection. If you enjoy creating structure, building bridges between strategy and execution, and bringing people along in change — this role is for you.
This is an interim position with an expected duration of 8–9 months, at 24–32 hours per week.
What you’ll be doing
- Lead portfolio planning and prioritization of Epic coming from the Strategic Roadmap (MYP), ensuring strategic alignment
- Manage the Portfolio Kanban and oversee the Portfolio Backlog
- Facilitate key SAFe events like PI Planning, Portfolio Sync & Refinement, 8-4-2 prior PI Planning meetings.
- Coach stakeholders on Lean Portfolio Management and Agile practices and promote a culture of continuous improvement
- Implement portfolio process improvement initiatives that help standardise ongoing tracking and improve overall efficiency.
- Identify and manage interdependencies across epics and teams
- Track time-to-market and help improve our portfolio delivery flow
- Coordinate Epics to execute long-term strategic planning
- Support leadership with updates to the Supervisory Board and change initiatives
- Serve as an ambassador for Lean-Agile ways of working and be a contributing member of our LACE team, as well as IT Change Management Team
What we’re looking for

In terms of your experience and skills:
- You have >3 years of experience in the Agile way of Working
- You have >2 years of experience in the Portfolio Manager or similar role
- You are quick in assessing strategic fit, desirability, feasibility, and viability of an idea
- Proficient in guiding and coaching individuals and teams across various tiers of the organization
- Strategic mindset with the ability to manage complexity and ensure clarity
- Experience leading Agile transformations or working in LACE team is important
- An effective communicator and influencer capable of aligning diverse stakeholders
- You can connect the dots between different Epics and stakeholder groups
- You have a data driven mindset and ability to prioritise and interpret data and customer insights
- Having experience in SAFe Lean Portfolio Management is beneficial
- Having a background as Product Owner, Product Manager, or Project Manager is beneficial
- Having experience in Jira or ClickUp is beneficial
- Candidates should be living in the Netherlands due to the need of frequent facilitation of sessions and plenty of (in)formal communication in the office in Utrecht
