[Video] Largest storm surge barrier in the Netherlands

One of the Delta Works, and the reason why the Netherlands is not under water, is the Oosterscheldekering. This Delta Work is the largest of the 13 works, at 9km, and protects the Netherlands from the North Sea.

The Delta Works were built in response to the terrible flood of 1953. The Oosterscheldekering took over a decade to build and was finished in 1986.
