Say goodbye to winter in the Netherlands

By Kiri Scully

This video was taken at the peak of Dutch winter, earlier this year near the river IJssel which is in the city of Kampen.

Kampen is a municipality as well as a city in the Dutch province of Overijsseland. It was best known for being an old Hanseatic town, a commercial and defensive confederation of merchant guilds at the lower end of the river IJssel.

Kampen's old town centre hosts the remains of an ancient city wall and numerous churches. But if you take a trip to the countryside, the scenery is breath-taking.
