Celebrating Europe Day

More than 50 years ago, the French Foreign Minister Robert Schuman presented his idea of an organised Europe, also known as the "Schuman declaration," which is considered to be the beginning of the European Union.

Since 1985, May 9, the day when Schuman held his presentation in Paris, is celebrated as a European symbol (Europe Day); a day to to remember the history of unified Europe, celebrate the results achieved so far and bring citizens and people of the Union closer.
