Mark McDaid
Mark hails from the Emerald Isle but has been living in the land of cheese and deep-fried-indiscriminate-meat since February 2009. He can often be found trying to read through a hand shaking vociferously from coffee-intake or attempting to act in one of Amsterdam's English-language theater groups. Read more

The brand consultancy firm Hendrik Beerda has conducted, in association with Utrecht University, a survey of which provinces, cities and regions the Dutch people find most attractive.

About the survey

Over 11.000 Dutch people over the age of 18 were questioned in the survey, the results of which will be presented at the Nationaal Congres Citymarketing 2013 (NCC13). There has been no change in the top spots from the last time the firm conducted this survey, with Limburg remaining the top province and Amsterdam the top city.

The Veluwe was also revealed to be the most favoured region, mainly thanks to the opportunities for appreciating nature in the area. "Although shopping remains the favourite pasttime of the average Dutchman or woman, for relaxation the nature has the biggest pull", the report states.
