So, you have chosen to study in the Netherlands. Are you aware that in some instances you will need to get Dutch health insurance?

Switch to Loonzorg now!

What does LoonZorg offer?

As a specialist in expat health insurance policies, Loonzorg offers the best priced, custom-made health insurance packages in the Netherlands. What's more, all communication is in English, even the helpdesk.

LoonZorg offers two different health insurance policies for international students that will cover most unforeseen healthcare expenses. The main differences between the two policies are in the number of treatments and the maximum coverage. Compare both health insurance policies.

What do these insurance policies cover?

Loonzorg health insurance policies for international students cover up to:

  • 75.000 euros for doctor and hospital expenses
  • 10 treatments of physiotherapy
  • 10 treatments of psychotherapy
  • 350 euros of emergency dental care

These policies are available for a monthly premium of 29,50 euros or 37,50 euros. Register now.

When is Dutch health insurance compulsory?

Please note that as soon as a student starts working in the Netherlands (part-time work included), their employer pays contributions towards Social Security. From that moment on, the student is obliged to take out Dutch public health insurance.

LoonZorg can help you switch insurance policy packages to ensure you have the best-suited and best-priced policy for your individual situation. Learn more here.

When do you switch policies?

Students can easily switch to this Dutch public health insurance as soon as they start working in the Netherlands, whether this is full-time or part-time. If you have any questions regarding health insurance for international students, don’t hesitate to contact LoonZorg:
