The world is changing rapidly, and at Nord Anglia International School Rotterdam (NAISR), students are given the best possible preparation to succeed in the future. The school aims to not only help children achieve excellent exam results, but to nurture their curiosity, critical thinking and personal growth. NAISR graduates leave NAISR ready to thrive at university and beyond.

Internationally recognised excellence

NAISR is known for its commitment to its students' academic development. They follow the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme (IBDP), which is famous for its rigorous curriculum, and its ability to give students life-long learning skills, such as how to think critically and engage with diverse perspectives.

A testament to the hard work, passion and dedication of both NAISR's students and their staff is their 100 percent pass rate and final IBDP scores, which consistently exceed the global average.

A science education for tomorrow's innovators

One thing that sets NAISR apart is that they offer ambitious students - with permission - the opportunity to study not two, but three sciences as part of their IBDP programme. While many IB schools offer the usual two science subjects, they give students the opportunity to explore the full spectrum of scientific enquiry by studying three science subjects of their choice. Students can select their preferred subjects from:

  • Physics
  • Chemistry
  • Biology
  • Sports Exercise and Health

This unique option allows students to gain a comprehensive understanding of the scientific world and arms them with the requirements they need to be accepted into top universities around the world. Taking the option to study three sciences is particularly favoured by those students who would like to go into medicine.

NAISR

The science programme at NAISR is grounded in the belief that students should not only learn scientific concepts but also be inspired by the endless possibilities that science offers. Whether students are delving into the mysteries of physics, the complexities of biology, or the intricacies of chemistry, the teachers provide them with a strong foundation to succeed in the field of science.

Ethan, a year 13 student at NAISR says:
"Doing three sciences in IB is demanding but worth it. I am doing this as it is required for studying Medicine in the Netherlands. While unorthodox, the school was able to allow me to do these courses and give me the help and time I need to complete my work and feel supported by my teachers. In general, it's been hard at times but the aid my teachers give me and understanding they have for my situation makes things easier.”

Career opportunities in the sciences

A science education at NAISR doesn’t just open doors to universities - it also opens doors to a wide range of rewarding career paths. The skills and knowledge students acquire in their science programmes provide them with opportunities in fields as diverse as medicine, research, engineering, life-sciences, nano-biology, forensics and physiotherapy.

Preparing for a bright future

At NAISR, they don’t just focus on academic success, they also focus on preparing students for the real world. Whether they are interested in pursuing careers in the sciences, the arts or business, NAISR offers the support and resources they need to thrive.

They are also a “candidate school” for the IB Careers Programme, which is suited to students who already know in which direction they wish to go after school. They plan to offer this graduation pathway from August 2025. With dedicated teachers, excellent facilities, and a strong track record of academic achievement, NAISR is committed to ensuring that each student leaves prepared to make a difference in the world.
