Technical Developer Womenswear
About this role
For a global fashion brand in Amsterdam, we’re hiring a Technical Developer to drive the creation and refinement of Womenswear woven blocks. This role will play a pivotal part in ensuring consistency, fit quality, and efficiency across core woven categories.
The Position
As part of the Women’s Technical Development team, you will be responsible for reviewing, developing, and implementing improved woven blocks for the North America market. This role requires close collaboration with cross-functional stakeholders—Design, Technical, Product Development, and Merchandising—to establish reliable blocks that serve as the foundation for future seasonal styles.
The position offers the opportunity to establish and improve core Womenwear woven blocks (shirts, dresses, skirts, etc.), ensuring consistency, fit quality, and efficiency for future styles.
Responsibilities
- Review current woven blocks, identify gaps and fit issues, align on target fits and priorities with all stakeholder (design, tech, PD and Merch).
- Development and testing: Create & refine priority woven blocks (such as shirts, dresses & skirts), run test samples and fittings, adjust based on feedback and secure alignment.
- PLM and system updates: Ensure all new blocks are updated with the global fit grading, styles are set up under shapes and blocks are ready to use for seasonal styles.
- Finalization and handover: Finalize approved blocks, update technical files, upload to shared systems, and provide a clear block overview for the team. Conclude with a sign-off review with Womenwear leadership & North America team.
Deliverables
- Improved and approved woven blocks with graded specs for TH Women's North America line.
- Spec library is created, clearly labelled and accessible in PLM under 'Shapes'.
- Creation of block library overview document.
Requirements
- Strong technical expertise in garment construction and fit, ideally within woven product categories.
- Experience with block development, patternmaking, and fit testing.
- Proficiency with PLM systems and technical specification processes.
- Clear communicator, able to align cross-functional stakeholders and lead fit discussions.
- Detail-oriented, structured, and organized, with the ability to manage multiple phases simultaneously.
- Comfortable in a fast-paced, global fashion environment.
- Fluent in English, both written and spoken.
- Degree in Technical Design, Fashion Technology, or equivalent professional experience.
