The Netherlands has plenty of national parks, monuments and other attractions that are definitely worth visiting. But what you maybe didn’t know is that it is also home to some 700 castles, country houses and rural estates.

Many of these picture-worthy places were built by merchants and nobility during the Golden Age and in the 17th and 18th century. Nowadays, many are open to the public, in the form of museums, attractions, hotels and even restaurants.

YouTube channel holland.com gives us a glimpse of some of the most beautiful castles and castle gardens in the Netherlands.

One of the castles shown is the spectacular De Haar Castle in Utrecht. This castle is surrounded by over 135 acres of gardens and a park, and has been visited by famous names such as Coco Chanel and Roger Moore. Take a closer look at this magical castle courtesy of YouTube channel Danny.

Muiderslot is another castle that is definitely worth visiting. Located close to Amsterdam, it is rich in history and there is heaps to do and discover. YouTube channel Jaap van Willigen captures the castle’s beauty.
