Fortified Bicycle Alliance has just taken to Kickstarter to launch an ambitious new bicycle product. Called Afterburner and Aviator, their new bike lights claim to be theft-proof and indestructible.

About the lights

The set comprises an Afterburner Rear Light and an Aviator Front Light. After being screwed onto your bicycle, the team claims that these lights will survive anything. They are engineered to endure extreme weather, tough biking and, importantly, relentless theft attempts.

The team is so confident in their design that they've guaranteed to replace any stolen light free of charge. They call this their official "Lifetime, No-Matter-What Warranty."

The lights themselves are impressively bright and long-lasting. High capacity batteries mean that the product only needs recharging an average of once every three months (for 20 minute per day rides).

There is also a simple - but secret - "trick" to release the batteries, so that thieves shouldn't be able to nick those either.

About Fortified Bicycle Alliance

Fortified Bicycle Alliance (previously known as Gotham Bicycle) is a small company based in Massachusetts, USA. The business describes itself as a team of "MIT bike geeks."

It consists of a professional product developer and an electrical engineer, as well as a small team who work directly on the project. This means that there's plenty of engineering expertise, technical knowledge and cycling experience behind their products.

The FBA previously had huge success with their 2012 project, The Defender. This theft-proof bike light for city cyclists has sold over 5.000 worldwide - and boasts a theft rate of only 0,5%!

The project was influenced at every stage by customer feedback, as the FBA asked the general public to tell them how the lights should be designed, built, and even named.
