A new initiative in the Netherlands, started by the volunteer network of Oxfam Novib, aims to promote shopping at businesses offering fair trade, organic and second hand products via the website Eerlijkwinkelen.nl ("Honest Shopping").

On the website you can find Google maps labeled with all kinds of "honest" businesses in 25 cities, big and small, located all over the country. These maps are also available in paper form. The website also has an agenda of relevant events (e.g. the Food Film Festival).

If you would like to get more involved, go to their page "Doe mee!" (Join in!), where you can suggest businesses to add, inscribe your own business, and even ask questions in the forum they've set up (e.g. Where can I find a sustainable bikini?).

You can also sign up for their newsletter on their website and follow them on Facebook here.

Note that for now, the website is only available in Dutch, but is quite straightforward to use.
