4 flower markets in Amsterdam where you can buy a cheerful bouquet

Aug 3, 2024

Whether you want to add a splash of colour to your living room or are looking for something special to gift a loved one, you can never go wrong with a bouquet of blooms from a flower market in Amsterdam.

Flower markets in Amsterdam

From tulips to roses and everything in between, these are some of the best flower markets in Amsterdam where you can grab a bunch.

Bloemenmarkt

As the only floating flower market in the world, the Bloemenmarkt on the Singel canal in Amsterdam is one flower market you definitely want to visit. Aside from the vibrant colours and divine smells of all the flowers on offer, visitors can also find bulbs, seeds and typical Dutch souvenirs that would make great gifts for visiting family and friends. Open all year round in all weather, there’s never a wrong time to visit the flower market barges on a Dutch canal.

Dappermarkt

Food, drinks, jewellery, and of course flowers - the Dappermarkt has it all! Taking place six days a week next to the neighbourhood park in Amsterdam-Oost, you can get all the flowers your heart desires, from made-to-order bouquets to fully-grown houseplants in little pots.

Albert Cuyp Market

Featuring a number of stalls dedicated to flowers and houseplants, the Albert Cuyp Market deserves a spot on this list. Here you can find your favourite florist offering up orchids, lilies and any other flower you can imagine. You can also stock up on fresh local produce, clothes and accessories while walking around one of the largest street markets in Europe.

Farmers Market Haarlemmerplein

If you’re someone who likes to get a new bouquet of flowers once a week, then the farmers market on Haarlemmerplein, open every Wednesday, is the one for you. Since it’s not just a flower market, you can also stock up on your weekly groceries, such as fruit, meats and cheeses, while you choose a batch of blooms.
