Calling all Poirot lovers! The iconic Orient Express will be making a stop in the Netherlands this summer. The famed train will be departing from Amsterdam - the Venice of the north - on June 24 and will head to the real Venice.
This is the first time the Orient Express will be running a service via Amsterdam, as in the past it has only travelled through the city for a privately organised trip. On this journey, the train will depart from Amsterdam Centraal before embarking on a two-day journey via Brussels and Paris to Venice.
If you’ve always dreamed of travelling on the Orient Express, this could be your chance - but it won’t come cheap! A single ticket for two people costs over 6.000 euros. And if you’re worried about travelling during the coronavirus pandemic, then Belmond - the company that owns the train - is here to ease your worries: “It is safe - we will run the Orient Express from May 1, 2021!”.
