[Video] Zeeland by drone

Zeeland, the westernmost province in the Netherlands, is full of stunning landscapes, beaches and charming towns. Youtube channel XL Creations has managed to capture some of the beauty the province has to offer.

Westenschouwen is a small village, located in the far west of the municipality of Schouwen Duiveland. In 2017, the village had 255 residents. Close by, you can find the largest forest in the province of Zeeland, Boswachterij Westerschouwen, covering 330 hectares.

The forest is situated at the coast and is said to be one of the most beautiful places in the province. The beach at the forest edge is also known as one of the most beautiful in the Netherlands.

Het Verdronken Land van Saeftinghe, or “Drowned Land of Saeftinghe”, is a national park and also the largest swamp in Europe, covering an area of 3600 hectares or 36km2. The area borders the river Scheldt directly and is highly influenced by its tides.

Veere is a picturesque tourist town in Zeeland and was once a staple port for Scottish wool. In the 16th century, there was even a Scottish colony which established itself in Veere, complete with its own governor. Veere played a very important economic role for Scotland, one which no other European town ever has since.

Have you been to Zeeland before? And if so, what was your favourite place? Let us know in the comments!
