Paragliding Holland has a yearly paragliding course in Bassano, Italy, on the south side of the Dolomites. If you're looking for an adventure that literally sweeps you off your feet, this Dutch paragliding organisation can bring you on the flight of a lifetime - in English!

WARNING: Paragliding is mind-blowing and incredibly addictive!

“Once you have tasted flight, you'll forever walk the earth with your eyes turned skyward.....”

Looking for that ultimate feeling of freedom? Have you always dreamt of flying in the sky, soaring high on magical air currents? Well, then it's time to live your dream! Come and join Paragliding Holland for an adventure in the mountains (or in the Netherlands!) and learn how to fly. Paragliding Holland guarantees you a life-changing experience and many unforgettable memories.

WARNING: Paragliding is mind-blowing and incredibly addictive! Or, to quote Leonardo da Vinci: “Once you have tasted flight, you will forever walk the earth with your eyes turned skyward, for there you have been, and there you will always long to return.”

Paragliding Holland is convinced that Leonardo would have been a paragliding pilot, were he alive today. There is nothing more magical than inflating your colourful paragliding wing on a small mountain meadow and then using the pockets of rising warm air (thermals) to climb high above the mountains and fly off into unknown territory. And the good news is: YOU can learn how to fly like a bird!

A special course in the Italian Alps in English

Paragliding Holland has been organising paragliding courses since 1989 and is one of the biggest paragliding schools in Europe. They have taught thousands of people how to fly and are ready to help you get your feet in the air. For 2020, they are organising a special course in English in the Italian Alps for expats, foreign enthusiasts or just anyone who would rather be taught in English.

You don’t need any prior paragliding experience: just come along and have the adventure of a lifetime!

Spend May 10-15, 2020 in and around Bassano del Grappa, the historic Italian town on the south side of the Dolomites. This area generally has favourable weather and it offers excellent flying opportunities with several different areas for take-off and landing. The location is sheltered from the north wind. Very often, when the surrounding area experiences bad weather, Bassano tends to escape it.

And to top it all off, it has great restaurants with amazing Italian food. Stay with other paragliders as a group in a small paragliding hotel within walking distance of the landing. Bassano is easily reached by plane: you can fly to Venice and take a train to Bassano. Once you are there, Paragliding Holland will organise everything.

Paragliding beginners welcome!

If you are a complete beginner, your course will start with getting to know all the necessary equipment and learning how to inflate the wing. This generally takes around a day and a half. It will include lots of practice, as well as theory lessons.

And then it will be time for your first high altitude solo flight! You will go up the mountain and the experienced instruction team will set you up for your big adventure. No one ever forgets their first solo flight.

A trip of a lifetime up in the air

Weather permitting, you’ll get to fly every day, do exercises in the air, discuss some theory and, of course, laugh, eat, drink and have fun with the group. If you are up for it, you might even experience your first thermals and get close to the clouds at the end of the week.

There are five suitable starting points on the Monte Grappa and two landing areas. Throughout the course, the organisers strive to take off from as many different places as possible. The five points, at varying heights above sea level, are Stella (520 metres), Costa Lunga (750 metres), Col Serai (970 metres), Da Beppi (767 metres) and Monte Grappa (1550 metres).
