Moving abroad and building a new life is an exciting, life-changing experience. But building your life in a new country with an unknown language and culture can be a daunting process. Where do you begin? And who do you go to with your questions? The International Welcome Centre Utrecht Region (IWCUR) is there to help you settle in. The IWCUR offers a number of free services to advise and assist you during your arrival and stay in the Utrecht Region.

Help with the formalities

IWCUR 1Before starting your new life in the Utrecht Region, you should be aware that you need to arrange some governmental formalities. The IWCUR can help you with these first essential steps. In one visit, you can take care of your municipal registration, receive a citizen service number (BSN) and, when applicable, collect your visa and residence permit from the IND. For further information, please visit the IWCUR website.

The experts at the IWCUR are happy to provide you with information about topics related to housing, relocating, finance, healthcare, job opportunities, as well as cultural and leisure activities.

Visit the Welcome Centre for one-on-one conversations with experts and former expats to get advice and assistance. You will be provided with a welcome pack with essential information. You can also find some useful documents on the website, such as the Moving Guide to get started and the UR home brochure to explore the area.
