Tighter rules and close collaboration with municipalities is how the Dutch government plans to tackle current issues regarding labour migration from Central and Eastern Europe.

Measures will focus on registration and housing improvements, exploitation issues and quick / easy procedures for sending unemployed migrants back to their countries. More specifically:

› Sending European citizens, who are unable to support themselves financially, back to their country of origin will be strictly applied.

› Registration in the municipal personal records database (Gemeentelijke Basisadministratie) will be (more) strictly enforced.

› Housing associations and municipalities will be encouraged to cooperate in order to (effectively) address the housing needs of labour migrants.

› The government, local authorities, employers' associations and unions, migrant organisations and countries of origin will collaborate to improve distribution of information about labour migration.
