Bicycle ambulances in The Hague

By Moa Thorssell

This summer, during busy days and events, bicycle ambulances will drive around the city and the beach of The Hague.

Bicycle ambulances, which are already in use in London, Toronto and since 2008, in Utrecht, will avoid traffic jams and thus, be able to treat people in need in just a few minutes.

The so-called "ambu-bikes" will be fully equipped and provide the same "services" just like a normal ambulance, but as expected, cannot offer transportation; patients need to be treated at the scene.
