Amsterdam's Rijksmuseum is nearing the end of a decade-long renovation and restoration project by Spanish architects Cruz y Ortiz. To tide museum-goers over until its April 2013 reopening, the museum has just unveiled a new logo, designed by Irma Boom.

The updated logo is part of a revamped overall style for the museum, also designed by Boom, which includes a new colour palette based on highlights of the museum's collection, as well as a custom-designed typeface called Rijksmuseum, by Paul van der Laan of the foundry Bold Monday.

The new logo:

Check out more of Van der Laan's typeface here and some samples of the new colour palette in the collateral materials here.
