The RIVM (National Institute for Public Health and Environment) reports that, since the last update, another 70 people in the Netherlands have tested positive for COVID-19, the illness that is caused by the new coronavirus. This means that the new total of infected people is 49.722.
Of the 49.722 people infected, another five people have died since yesterday*, June 22, bringing the death toll to 6.095. In total, 11.853 (+3) patients have been admitted to hospital. As not all people are getting tested, the true number of people infected with the new coronavirus is higher than reported.
*There may be a delay between the day of death and the day that it is reported.

The Outbreak Management Team has announced that government plans to relax the coronavirus measures from July 1 are safe to go ahead. The new measures will see gyms, canteens, casinos, and saunas opening from July.
Events such as weddings, funerals, and church services, as well as businesses such as restaurants and cinemas, will be allowed to host a maximum of 100 people from the 1st. Furthermore, some eased measures currently planned for September may be brought forward.
Prime Minister Mark Rutte is expected to make the official announcement at a press conference on Wednesday.
