Radboud University receives most European grants

Radboud University in Nijmegen has been awarded five prestigious European research grants for new top-level researchers (ERC starting grants).

Alexey Kimel of the Institute for Molecules and Materials and Christian Doeller, who will soon be working at the Donders Institute for Brain, Cognition and Behaviour, will each receive an EC grant of one and a half million euros to set up their own line of research.

Earlier this year, Herma Cuppen and Hans Elemans of the IMM and Marguérite Corporaal of the Institute for Historical, Literacy and Cultural Studies received an ERC starting grant.

These five successful applications mean that Radboud University has received the most European grants this year of all Dutch universities.

The four cooperating universities in the north and east of the country received a combined total of 13 of the 25 grants awarded in the Netherlands.
