Maintenance & Repair Control Officer

About the Role:
As the Maintenance & Repair Control Officer, you will be responsible for managing the Maintenance & Repair (M&R) processes for our client’s container fleet in the Benelux and Rhine regions, including Belgium, Netherlands, France, Germany, and Switzerland.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assess and evaluate repair estimates, making decisions on the next steps for containers, including repair, claims, evacuation, off-hire, or sale.
- Organize and schedule physical surveys or audits at depots.
- Act as the primary point of contact for all M&R-related matters, liaising with internal departments such as Sales and Customer Services, as well as with depots, terminals, and customers.
- Monitor and control M&R costs for all locations within the designated regions.
- Visit depots to discuss and enforce M&R procedures and ensure compliance with established guidelines.
- Ensure proper rate and estimate integration into the M&R system.
Requirements:
- A minimum of four years of experience in Maintenance & Repair, with a solid understanding of container, reefer, and unit repairs.
- An educational background equivalent to HBO level; IICL5 or IICL6 certification is an advantage.
- General knowledge and experience in the maritime industry.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to interact with customers, senior leaders, and middle management.
- Excellent customer-facing skills with the ability to build and maintain relationships.
- A professional demeanor, positive attitude, and the ability to handle stress in challenging situations.
- Fluency in English is essential; proficiency in French and/or Dutch is a plus.
