In July, (seasonally adjusted) unemployment in the Netherlands rose to 413.000, exceeding the 400.000 mark for the first time in 2011, according to the latest figures by Statistics Netherlands.

More insights
› Unemployment increased by 22.000 and 13.000 compared to June and May respectively.
› Unemployment growth was about the same for both genders.

Note that according to the Institute for Implementation of Employees’ Insurances (UWV), the number of unemployment benefits (254.000) has remained "virtually stable in July."
