[Video] Enjoy the Amsterdam Light Festival without leaving your home!

January can be a pretty dark and dismal month, thanks to the cold weather, the short days, and the fact that the Christmas holidays are over and life therefore returns to normal. However, there is one aspect of the dreary winter months that is certain to light up your days (and nights) and that’s the annual Amsterdam Light Festival

Every winter, the canals in Amsterdam are illuminated by a variety of impressive and sometimes thought-provoking light installations. This year - the first year since 2019 in which the festival is able to go ahead without any coronavirus restrictions - sees the beautiful works of art return to the Dutch capital.

Dragging yourself out of the house after a long day at work or school can be tricky, especially if it’s cold and already dark outside. But failing to visit the Amsterdam Light Festival means you’ll definitely be missing out!

If you won’t be able to do the tour and enjoy the festival route this year, want to get a sneak preview of the art on display at this year’s edition before making plans to visit it, or just want to bask in the beauty of these gorgeous installations, then be sure to check out the video below, which offers a lovely taste of what’s on offer at the 11th edition of the Amsterdam Light Festival.
