Train cancellations will hit Groningen

Between February 25 and March 4, no trains will run between Groningen and: Assen, Veendam, Bad Nieuweschans and Leer. Instead, NS and Arriva will provide bus transportation. This will add an estimated 30-45 minutes to the average journey time.

Four NS buses will run an hour between Assen and Groningen, stopping at the Transferium in Haren. Passengers to and from the Haren railway station will also be provided a shuttle service between the station and the Transferium.

Arriva will provide a bus service between Groningen and Veendam, and between Groningen and Winschoten. Buses making frequent stops between Leer and Winschoten will connect with the service to Groningen. There will also be a bus service with frequent stops between Groningen and Veendam / Zuidbroek.
