Dutch singer Glennis Grace makes it to the final of America's Got Talent
Dutch singer Glennis Grace has made it into the final of America’s Got Talent. If Glennis wins, she’ll take home one million dollars and the opportunity to give a headline show in Las Vegas. Whether she wins or not, she has already done the Netherlands proud!
A standing ovation at the semi-final
After singing This Woman’s Work by Kate Bush in the semi-finals, which got her a standing ovation, she made it to the finals. However, she ran the risk of being eliminated, as her low score meant that she was placed third from last, until she was saved by the public voting system known as Dunkin’ Save.
After the ultimate result of being named a finalist, she expressed her gratitude to the American public. She said, “Thank you for saving me. I am so glad that I can go to the finals, that was my goal.”
Glennis Grace in the Netherlands
Before ever appearing on America's Got Talent, Glennis Grace had already made a name for herself in the Netherlands. She won a major youth contest singing Whitney Houston’s One Moment in Time aged 16, and in 2005 she participated in the Eurovision Song Contest in Kiev.
Dutch talent in the final
We still don’t know what song Grace will sing in the final. In America’s Got Talent she has already sung Run to You by Whitney Houston, Nothing Compares 2 U by Prince and Never Enough from The Greatest Showman.
The final takes place on Tuesday, September 18, with the final results show the following day. Grace will compete against nine other contestants, among them stand-up comedians, a trapeze duo, an electric violinist, an illusionist, an acrobat group and two other singers.
