Movies that Matter

Movies that Matter offers a platform for film makers who create films that deal with human rights and social justice issues. These films are presented throughout the year in the On Tour programme in 17 Dutch film theatres, online and at the yearly Movies that Matter Festival in The Hague.

In addition to offering more than 60 screenings of both fiction films and documentaries, the Movies that Matter Festival has an array of debates, talks and special international guests. As it’s been so long since MtM became an independent foundation, the festival will also feature musical performances, an exhibition, masterclasses and more.

Some of this year's highlights are:

  • Algo Mío - Argentina's Stolen Children
  • Apprentice
  • A Good Wife
  • Bram Fischer
  • No Place for a Rebel
  • Solitary
  • The Verdict
  • Zero Days

Please note: Ticket competition winners are announced on the closing date. Each winner will receive a multi-ticket for one person that grants access to six screenings. Remember to check this page or your IamExpat inbox to see if you've been selected!
