Can’t get enough of Virtual Reality (VR) films? How about a whole festival dedicated to them? That’s what you can experience at the Eye Film Museum in Amsterdam this September.

A festival dedicated to VR films

The festival usually takes place on the small island of Lazaretto Vecchio in Venice, but this year, due to the unusual circumstances that surround us as a result of the coronavirus pandemic, the famed Venice VR Film festival takes place globally in satellite cities. The name of this special edition is Venice VR Expanded.

Amsterdam’s EYE Film Museum - being both one of the most famous cinemas in Amsterdam and at the same time one of the city's most renowned museums -  is one of the 12 satellite venues! So, if you’d like to be part of a global audience marvelling at VR films with other like-minded individuals, then book your spot at the EYE Film Museum.

Along with Venice and Amsterdam, the other cities that host Venice VR Expanded at famous venues include Hangzhou, Geneva, Moscow, Paris, Barcelona, Taipei, Berlin, Modena, Piacenza, Copenhagen, Montreal, Portland and Istanbul.

Venice VR Expanded is part of the 78th Venice International Film Festival, which, in turn, is part of the Venice Biennale. Venice International Film Festival is the world's oldest film festival and was one of the first film festivals in the world to show interest in VR or Virtual Reality.
