Manifesto Film Festival is unlike any other film festival you’ve ever seen. In short, it's a celebration, of handpicked films that reflect our collective consciousness.

Taking place in Amsterdam, it focuses on a specific theme each year that offers relevant commentary on the zeitgeist. The hand-selected programme aims to reflect the collective consciousness in thought and culture! This year, the theme is "Constructed Identities".

Be prepared to be educated, enlightened and entertained!

From September 6-8, several key venues across Amsterdam, including the Rialto Cinema, the Ketelhuis and EYE Film Museum will present their own varied film programme from the Manifesto Film Festival. Entering into its third year, the film festival aims to give voice to as many independent and first-time filmmakers while also celebrating those who have found success.

All films will be shown with English subtitles, making it even more accessible to all!  All-access tickets to the festival, which include access to the Opening Night Reception at Rialto, the Gala at the EYE Film Museum and the Closing Night Film at Floor 17, are now available on the Manifesto Festival Film website

Focus theme: Constructed Identities

This focus for this year's Manifesto Film Festival is “Constructed Identities”, taking a closer look at creations of extensions of the self online, of gender and personality. A large selection of the short films and features explore this concept, looking at how people analyse inner ideals by creating personas which can elaborate or confuse their sense of true self.

Special guest of honour at Manifesto Film Festival

The guest of honour at this year's Manifesto Film Festival Amsterdam is Stephen Trask, Grammy-nominated musician and writer of Hedwig and the Angry Inch, the main closing night film.

Trask will be present for a special Q&A and the after-party following the film screening at Floor 17, so be sure you get your tickets for the event in time! He will also discuss his process working with John Cameron Mitchell in writing for the film Hedwig and the Angry Inch, together with sound designers and composers Donna Kavanagh and Jetse De Jong during this panel at the Ketelhuis. Book your free spot.
